If you search the internet for “meditation,” you probably won’t find anything quite like this, but after years of reading, research, and practice, I’ve found what I believe to be the most accurate definition of meditation. At least, it’s the closest to my personal experience. Meditation allows me to become a close friend and supportive companion to myself, and it also helps me practice being an objective observer.

Meditation amplifies the parts of ourselves that need the most attention but are often overlooked, and it focuses our awareness on them. With consistent practice, meditation can become a practical and effective tool for self-exploration and healing.

So why doesn’t everyone on this planet meditate every day? Like other great universal truths, meditation is shrouded in mystery, leading to many misconceptions. Some people complicate the practice of meditation and try to convince you that their way is the only way. However, I believe meditation is something anyone can do, and there are as many ways to meditate as there are people in the world.
