KKday Travel Experience
Situated in Seoul, South Korea, Lotte World not only covers a large area and enjoys convenient subway access at Jamsil Station, but also offers numerous nearby facilities, such as Lotte Department Store and an aquarium. If you’re spending limited time in Seoul but still want to visit an amusement park, this editor highly recommends Lotte World as the top choice!
After experiencing Lotte World firsthand, this editor has compiled essential information including must-ride attractions, park navigation tips, transportation, ticket exchange, and routes from Jamsil Station to Lotte World. If you’re planning to go to Lotte World but aren’t sure how to make the most of your visit, this guide is just what you need!(Source: KKday)
Lotte World is divided into two sections: Adventure (Adventures World) and Magic Island. Adventure is indoors and features attractions that are more suitable for families and offer a milder experience, while Magic Island is outdoors with more thrilling rides, making it ideal for roller coaster enthusiasts. Magic Island has a total of 17 attractions, and Adventure has 32. The two parks are connected on the second floor, centered around “Magic Castle” to create a medieval European atmosphere.

After exiting Jamsil Subway Station, head towards exits 3 and 4. Upon reaching the plaza, turn left to get to Lotte Department Store or right to go to Lotte World.

Getting to Lotte World is much more convenient than getting to Everland, which is one of the personal reasons this editor prefers Lotte World more. Lotte World is located right at Jamsil Station on Subway Line 8 (green line). After exiting through exits 3 or 4, there’s an underground passage that directly connects to both Lotte Department Store and Lotte World!

Not only is Lotte World easy to get to, but its ticket types are also super straightforward. Unlike other theme parks that offer a confusing variety of tickets requiring a lot of time to figure out, Lotte World basically offers a standard entry ticket plus the option of a Magic Pass. The Magic Pass comes in three, four, or five ride versions, or even an all-you-can-ride free version based on your preference.
Source:KKday
In addition to the basic Lotte World ticket + Magic Pass, you can also purchase an aquarium ticket separately! That means you can enjoy all the attractions in one go. The combo ticket I bought back then was the Lotte World ticket + 3 Magic Passes + aquarium ticket. Below, I’ve listed the various ticket options for your reference:
Whether you’re buying just the Lotte World ticket or the Lotte World ticket + Magic Pass + aquarium ticket combo, you’ll only receive one ticket card! You can use this single card to enter both Lotte World and the aquarium, and you can also scan it for Magic Pass express entry.

The benefit of purchasing on KKday is that you can skip the queue, and after exchanging your ticket, the entrance is right nearby, which is very convenient. However, remember that the ticket exchange location is at the South Gate!
Taking Exit 4 allows you to first reach the surface and then walk to the South Gate, or you can also take Exit 3 and use the underground passage to get to the South Gate for ticket exchange (it's better to use the underground passage in winter, otherwise you'll keep getting blown by the wind—it's super cold!). Another advantage of taking the underground passage is that there are signs along the way, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost!
Source:KKday
After finding the South Gate, enter the indoor area and look to the left for the "Ticket" counter shown in the picture above to exchange your ticket. Once you’ve exchanged your ticket, you can head straight into the park—Up you go~ Entering from the South Gate will take you directly into Adventure World!

After exchanging your ticket, if you want to find a locker, it is located to the left of the entrance—very easy to find and very convenient.

The function of the Magic Pass is like a fast pass. You can use it at any amusement ride that has a Magic Pass lane. Making good use of it can save you a lot of queuing time. For example, back when I visited, aside from the admission ticket, I purchased three additional Magic Passes, which meant I could use it three times—just pick three rides that have a Magic Pass lane.

Basically, each admission ticket already includes three free Magic Pass uses, and there are two ways to use the free Magic Pass:
Queue on-site:Find the Magic Pass exchange machine next to the ride, scan your ticket, and you’ll receive a fast-pass ticket with a designated time printed on it. Just come back to ride during the assigned time. The top of the Magic Pass machine also displays the currently available time slots, but note that the daily supply of free Magic Passes is limited and they’re given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s recommended to draw yours as soon as you enter.
App pre-booking:If you don’t want to exchange the Magic Pass on-site, you can also download the Lotte World app in advance, log in with your ticket upon entry, and the app will show how many Magic Passes are available for your ticket. However, even with the app, you can only use it three times, and once you’ve used the app, you can no longer queue for a free Magic Pass on-site.
So you might be wondering, if every ticket already comes with three free Magic Passes, what’s the benefit of paying extra to purchase additional Magic Passes? The free Magic Passes, whether booked via the app or queued for on-site, require you to draw or reserve in advance, and once they're gone, they’re gone. But the paid Magic Passes do not require advance drawing or reservations—you can just go straight to the Magic Pass lane for the ride you want, then show your ticket to the staff for scanning.
Rides with Magic Pass (only listing popular attractions):
1. Coffee Cups (Drunken Basket)
2. 3D Wilderness Legend (Dragon Wild Shooting)
3. Jungle Adventure Boat (Jungle Adventure)
4. High-altitude Bungee (Bungee)
5. Bumper Cars (Bumper car)
6. New High-altitude Swing (Gyro Swing)
7. Pirate Ship (The Conquistador)
8. Pharaoh’s Fury (Pharaoh’s Fury)
9. Atlantis (Atlantis)
10. French Revolution Roller Coaster (French Revolution VR)
11. Haunted House (The Haunted House)
12. Balloon Flight (Aeronauts Balloon Ride)
13. Free Fall (Gyro)
14. Giant Loop (Giant Loop)
15. Swing Tree (Swing Tree)
My top recommended ride is definitely this balloon ride. The hot air balloon design is not only adorable, but you can also overlook the entire Adventure World from high up, giving you a chance to see where all the different rides are located and plan which one to try next. Plus, this balloon ride isn’t too intense, making it great for families with kids.
Source:KKday
However, I also want to remind everyone that this balloon ride is a popular attraction in Lotte World, so if you don’t want to spend one or two hours in line, you can use the Magic Pass for the fast track. When I went, I only waited five minutes before I could ride immediately.

The first ride I always look for when visiting an amusement park is the pirate ship ride—no exceptions here at the indoor park either. Though it's indoors, the thrill and excitement are just as intense as any other park's version. Just check out that near 90-degree vertical angle—it'll have you screaming the moment you sit down!
The pirate ship is also a super popular attraction, so if you’re only using the three free Magic Passes included with your ticket, make sure to exchange your admission ticket for Magic Pass vouchers right after entering the park. Otherwise, they’ll be gone in no time. But if you’ve purchased the upgraded Magic Pass, you can use it anytime you want—just go through the Magic Pass lane and show your ticket to the staff.

Don’t assume there are no roller coasters in an indoor park. This one not only spans the entire indoor adventure world, but it also features an upgraded virtual reality experience that takes the terror of a coaster ride to a whole new level. As someone who loves thrills, I absolutely love it—and I highly recommend it for anyone with a strong heart ready for a challenge!
Compared to the first two rides, this roller coaster is even more insanely popular. No matter when you come, you’ll always have to wait in a long line… So if you're using the free Magic Pass, I strongly suggest rushing to grab it as soon as the park opens!

If you’re a die-hard fan of Running Man like me, you’ll definitely recognize this ride. It was actually featured in one of the very first episodes—the ever-fearful Haha even sang while screaming on this giant Ferris wheel. Watching it made me dizzy—I have no idea how many times it spun around!
Source:KKday
This ride caught my eye right away. After spotting it from the hot air balloon, I knew I had to try it first. Its exterior and interior are designed to simulate ancient Egypt, complete with mysterious legends, pharaohs, and totems. From the moment you step in, the immersive atmosphere will blow you away. Add in the lights, sounds, and the bumpy jeep-track ride that goes up and down, and you’ll truly feel like you’re exploring ancient Egypt.
Although it’s not as fast or intense as a roller coaster, the attention to detail in the scenery is amazing, and the gentle bumps keep things interesting. It’s a great choice for anyone who’s not quite ready to tackle a roller coaster.

Next up is a personal recommendation for parents visiting the park with kids. Right across from the service counter, there’s a “Dress Up” area where little ones can dress up as princesses or princes. And once they’re all dressed up, they can even join the parade. Dressing as royalty is probably a dream for lots of kids!
Source:KKday
Inside the park, there’s the French Revolution roller coaster, and outside, you’ll find the Atlantis coaster. Since it’s outdoors, Atlantis is bigger and even more thrilling. The entire outdoor area echoes with screams. There’s also an unspoken rule when riding this one: raise your hands high and fully enjoy the gravitational pull of the drops!
Source:KKday
Just looking at the crowd should tell you how popular this place is without me saying a word. Its exterior mimics medieval European architecture, and the inside has a creepy, eerie vibe—but this isn’t your typical haunted house with jump scares. It’s a 3D horror movie experience. Even though I don’t understand a word of Korean, the scariness definitely transcends language barriers!
Source:KKday
Lotte World’s Magic Island is packed with all kinds of thrilling rides—it’s basically heaven for me. This ride spins and swings on its own, tilting almost 90 degrees at the highest point, giving you the illusion that you might crash into the castle. It uses a low-noise, vibration-free large turntable, making it more comfortable than similar rides in other parks.
Source:KKday
The height of this free-fall ride really shocked me. You have to look way up to see the top, and it’s said that in just two seconds, you’ll experience a weightless, breathless sensation. The unpredictable ups and downs, with zero time to mentally prepare, crank up the fear factor even more!
Source:KKday
The swing ride is probably one of the milder attractions on Magic Island. If you’ve just finished a round of intense rides and need a breather, this is a good spot to relax and catch some wind. But if you’re prone to motion sickness, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Source:KKday
To quickly get your bearings on where all the rides are once you enter the park, make sure to grab a map. You can pick one up near the ticket gate at the South Entrance or at the service counter in the Adventure World. Once you’re inside, just go left and walk straight to find the counter. The maps come in multiple languages—you don’t need to worry about not understanding Korean.

Source:KKday
Aside from getting a map, it’s also a good idea to head right after entering the Adventure World and look for the sign shown in the picture to confirm the schedule for parades and shows (the sign is located next to the main stage). Not checking the schedule ahead of time could lead to what happened to me—I finished lunch only to realize the parade was already halfway over, and I missed my chance to get a good spot!

If you only have the three free Magic Passes that come with your ticket and didn’t purchase any extras, I suggest prioritizing the three most popular rides to use them on. Otherwise, those passes will be gone before you know it.
When I went, the French Revolution (French Revolution2 VR) ride ran out of Magic Passes by around 1 PM. Before using your Magic Passes, you can also check the wait times for each ride using the official Lotte app. If the wait is only 10–20 minutes, it’s better to just queue up instead of wasting your Magic Pass.
Source:KKday
Here are the rides I strongly recommend using your Magic Passes on:
1. French Revolution (French Revolution2 VR)
2. Spanish Pirate Ship (The Conquistador)
3. Pharaoh’s Fury
4. Aeronauts Balloon Ride
5. Atlantis Roller Coaster
6. The Haunted House (Ghost House)
7. Gryo Spin
Once you’ve used your three Magic Passes on your top picks, you’ll want to strategize your approach to the remaining popular rides. Below, I’ve listed a suggested order to help you make the most of your time—if you’re not sure where to start, feel free to take a look!
Adventure Park (Indoor)
My suggestion for the Adventure World is to use up your Magic Passes first, then work your way from the 4th floor down to the 1st.
Aeronauts Balloon Ride, Pharaoh’s Fury, Flume Ride, French Revolution (French Revolution2 VR), Spanish Pirate Ship (The Conquistador), Giant Loop

Magic Island (Outdoor)
On Magic Island, you also start by drawing a Magic Pass. After that, it’s recommended to first try out the popular rides—such as Atlantis the Roller Coaster, The Haunted House (also known as Ghost House), the New Gyro Swing, the New Gyro Spin, and others. Once you’ve done all of these, you can then move on to the rest.
Atlantis the Roller Coaster, The Haunted House (also known as Ghost House), the New Gyro Swing, the New Gyro Spin, the Free Fall (Gyro), the Bungee Jump, and the Swing Tree

How can you visit a theme park without catching a parade? Personally, I think the Lotte World parade is just as good as those in other parks (just look at the crowds—it speaks for itself!). Plus, if you’re visiting in winter, you can wait for the parade indoors—how wonderful is that? Usually, there’s one parade in the afternoon and another right before closing, but for exact timings, it’s best to check after entering the park or ask the staff directly at the information desk.

Speaking of the most popular must-buy plush toys at Lotte, it’s definitely Lorry and Lotty (I personally prefer to call them the Lotte couple)! With their big, innocent eyes and all kinds of cute outfits, you’ll seriously want to take home every single piece of merchandise. It’s recommended to shop for souvenirs at the store on the left as soon as you enter Adventure World—it’s fully stocked.

Aside from Lorry and Lotty, there are also many small vendor carts inside the indoor Adventure World, selling all sorts of wild hairstyles and balloons. Not leaving the park with one would really be a missed opportunity.

Other than Lotte World, there’s also an aquarium inside Lotte Department Store. Don’t rush home right after visiting Lotte World—you can swing by the aquarium. I originally thought this aquarium, tucked away in a department store, would be tiny, but it turns out to be a legit aquarium—and not a small one at that. During holidays, it’s even decorated accordingly.

With its massive aquarium tanks, adorable feeding shows, and a wide variety of fish species, you can explore aquatic ecosystems themed around rivers, coasts, oceans, and the Amazon—all in one place. The 85-meter-long underwater tunnel is especially breathtaking. I think ending your day at such a healing aquarium is perfect—it can instantly recharge you, no matter how tired you are.

After visiting the aquarium, you can also bring home a cute dolphin or penguin souvenir.
