The Keukenhof Park in the Netherlands is the largest flower park in the world. From mid-March to mid-May is the tulip blooming season. The park is huge, with various flower fields and an endless variety of blossoms—absolutely stunning. There are both indoor and outdoor spots in the park perfect for photography.
Inside the park, there are many flower beds arranged with blooms of different colors and varieties. Some are vibrant, such as those in red, yellow, orange, and pink; others are more muted, featuring white, purple, and similar tones.
Many flowers I had never seen before—some monochromatic, some bicolor—all were beautiful. A macro or telephoto lens can be used to capture the intricate details of the flowers.
With so many different kinds of flowers and colors, using multiple exposure techniques can produce really interesting results.
Many cameras have a multiple exposure function, allowing you to combine two, three, four, or more shots into one. A simpler method is to take one blurred shot and then one sharp shot to create a soft-focus effect. Manual focus is recommended, and manual mode is best to adjust the brightness of the blurred layer to highlight or soften the main subject.
It often rains in the Netherlands, and sunshine isn’t always abundant, so it’s worthwhile to capture the moment when sunlight shines through the flowers—it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Using multiple exposure techniques, you can shoot the same image with varying degrees of clarity, or you can layer two completely different images for a lot of creative possibilities.
It can also be fun to layer one horizontal image with one vertical image.
You could also feature one enlarged image and one reduced image.
