Thailand’s visa on arrival is the most commonly used visa for travelers visiting the country, costing around NT$1,900 and allowing a 15-day stay, which is very convenient. Thailand also implemented a policy in late 2018 to waive visa on arrival fees for travelers from 21 countries to boost tourism.

Thailand offers visa-free entry on arrival to travelers from 21 countries, including Taiwan. The original policy was set to expire on January 13, 2019, but a recent Cabinet meeting announced an extension of the visa exemption policy until April 30, 2019. Additionally, travelers planning to apply for a visa on arrival should be reminded that due to the waiver, there will likely be long queues at major airports in Thailand, requiring some waiting time. To avoid extra waiting time when entering the country, you can also pay NT$1,200 in advance to apply for a paper visa at the Thai Trade and Economic Office.
