The boutique hotel brand of InterContinental Hotels Group UK—Kimpton Hotel & Restaurants—held its first pop-up hotel in Asia, with its first stop landing in Taipei’s Xinyi District. The brand also invited stylish actor Wang Yangming to serve as the ambassador for the Kimpton pop-up hotel.

The first Kimpton pop-up hotel in Asia was held at Taipei’s Xinyi Vista Mall from January 11 to 13, spanning just three days. This pop-up fully embodied Kimpton’s signature design style and personalized service, integrating three iconic Kimpton hotel scenes: the New York lobby, Los Angeles guestroom, and West Hollywood bar.

The guestroom from Los Angeles’ Kimpton Everly Hotel features a pop-up-exclusive “Cloud Swing” interactive installation set up in the center of the room.

The bar area draws inspiration from West Hollywood’s Kimpton La Peer Hotel. Designed by an Icelandic designer, the walls are tiled with hexagonal tiles inspired by honey and beehives, while brass-colored lighting fixtures resemble the shape of bees. The overall color scheme gives off a retro and nostalgic vibe, perfectly matching Kimpton’s signature understated luxury.

Additionally, a simulated check-in experience was used to introduce the famed “Kimpton Moment” hotel service. For example, those who completed the guided tour, took photos, and set a public hashtag within the designated period had the chance to enjoy a limited-edition drink—crafted by the head bartender at Kimpton Da’an Tavernist and inspired by desserts and local Taiwanese elements—with only 1,000 cups available.
