Hualien’s Erzi Mountain wild hot springs still retain their tranquil beauty, awaiting adventurers who trek through deep valleys and upstream along rushing rivers to reach this hidden Hualien sanctuary. Along the riverbanks of the Erzi Mountain wild hot springs, majestic marble cliffs crafted by nature surround the area, not only stunning travelers visually but also liberating body and soul as you soak in the wild springs.
Erzi Mountain wild hot springs are located at the border of Hualien’s Xiulin and Wanrong townships. In the past, the hot springs were called “Wulai” by the Truku people, meaning “the place where hot springs emerge.” As the name suggests, it is a spot where hot springs surface. Due to its proximity to the river, the spring water formed what is said to be a hot spring river over 300 meters long, where local hunters would stop to wash away fatigue after hunting.
Today, Erzi Mountain wild hot springs remain peaceful and beautiful. After hiking through rugged valleys and navigating turbulent streams, travelers are greeted by picturesque surroundings, with the sound of babbling water echoing between towering cliffs, creating an ethereal and tranquil experience.
