Photographer Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze is a young photographer from France who has lived in Hong Kong for many years. Previously, he worked on a series of photographs featuringthe skyline of Hong Kong’s skyscrapers, including “Vertical Horizon,” which looks up at buildings, and “Wild Concrete,” which documents plants growing in the gaps between structures.
Recently, he shared his latest work, “Concrete Stories,” which captures fleeting moments of everyday life on the rooftops of Hong Kong residents, showcasing local culture.

Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze said that the start of this series was accidental. One morning in 2014, while searching for another photography project on a rooftop, he was drawn to the view of building rooftops as the sun slowly rose. He quickly took photos of the scene and began this photographic series.
Because rooftop scenes do not happen every day, Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze had to wait for the right moments to shoot them, gradually accumulating enough material for this series.
