The Taiwan Power Southern Exhibition Hall is located in the South Bay area of Kenting National Park, right next to Houpihu Yacht Marina, within the premises of Nuclear Power Plant No. 3. The exhibition area includes the main hall, auxiliary hall, commercial exhibition area, native plants area, and play area.

As we stepped into the lobby, the grand projection screen immediately caught our eye.

The first-floor exhibition area consists of eight themed spaces: real-time information zone, symbiosis, deep cultivation, sustainability, periodicals zone, Taiwan Power audiovisuals, 4D theater, and earthquake experience house.

A large projection curtain introduces Taiwan Power’s efforts in restoring the coral reefs of South Bay, along with two animated features: one showcasing the harmony between the Southern Exhibition Hall and the environment, and another depicting the connection between electricity and a better life. Via touchscreen displays, visitors can learn about Hengchun’s cultural landscape, recreational spots, and an introduction to Nuclear Power Plant No. 3.

There are fixed screening times, with each session limited to 120 people and lasting about 20 minutes. No reservation is needed—just line up when the session begins. Unfortunately, we arrived just as the show was starting and didn’t make it inside. Inside, visitors wear 3D glasses, and through the principle of optical polarization projection, a digitally rendered 3D world comes to life, enhanced by surround sound systems for an immersive visual experience.

Short films showcase more stories of Taiwan Power employees, but what fascinated the kids the most were the floor projection games. Yo quickly spotted a coin-stomping game on the ground where stepping on coins earns points, and the little rascal had a blast playing it.

This area highlights Taiwan Power's commitment to renewable energy and low-carbon sustainable operations, and the highlight is the many interactive experience games.

Hand-cranked power generation reveals the wonders of various energy sources.

Transforming into different types of power generation is super fun.

There’s a calorie calculator and competition games here. Even when playing with Yo, we didn’t go easy on them—the whole family had a great time running around XD.

Can you believe it? Anything can generate electricity now thanks to scientific research—soccer balls, cheese, even microalgae can be turned into electrical power. Isn't that absolutely amazing?

We’re always advocating for “energy conservation and carbon reduction.” The southern exhibition hall of Taipower uses a home environment as its theme, starting with climate change and aiming for sustainable development. It teaches everyone—on global, national, and personal levels—to understand green energy and implement energy-saving and carbon-reduction practices.

One tree can reduce 12kg of CO₂ per year.

Through various mini-games, we learn how to save energy and reduce carbon emissions in a fun and educational way.
This game lets you press a button to see the power from the Earth’s core visualized.

Blow some air to activate wind power generation. Yo blew so hard, it was like playing a giant “Blow Wind” game XD

Hydropower is pretty amazing too.

By rotating the reflective panel, you can see a projection on the ground and learn about the principles of solar power generation.

At the end, you’ll find the brand-new “two-story spiral slide” added to Taipower’s Southern Exhibition Hall in 2018.
As soon as we saw the slide, we all went crazy. Both adults and kids immediately rushed to ride it several times, never getting tired of it. (A special feature on unique slides across Taiwan)
※Slide Usage Restrictions: Must be 5 years or older. Please wear covered shoes (ankle support). Bare feet, sandals, or slippers are not allowed.

Don’t think this is just an ordinary slide.

This is a “Power Slide.” The southern exhibition hall of Taipower modeled it after a reactor. The orange parts represent steam, the blue slide represents the circulating cooling water, and the people sliding down represent water molecules. While having fun, you experience the process of heat exchange of cooling water inside the reactor.

In addition, there’s also an earthquake experience room on the first floor. We’veexperienced earthquake simulators at the Taoyuan Disaster Prevention Education Center, the Kaohsiung Science and Technology Museumbefore, and Yo loves them. So even here at Taipower’s Southern Exhibition Hall, we had to try it out again.
Even when the world is shaking, you have to stay calm and learn how to respond to emergencies.

We thought all the experiences were indoors, but unexpectedly, there was a “surprise” outside.

There’s a “solar photovoltaic maze” outside. Although it’s small and easy to finish with no real challenge, it still allows us and our kids to run, jump, play, chase each other, and find the way out together—it adds so much fun.

There’s also a “children’s play area,” which is another great spot to burn off some energy.

I’ve always loved taking my child to places that combine fun and learning. We grow together through play and discovery, and without realizing it, we parents also learn a lot. That’s the precious value of parent-child travel. In the future, we want to keep exploring and playing with our child, finding joy in learning and growing together.

The free and super fun Taipower Southern Exhibition Hall is highly recommended for families with kids. ~~~~
