What impression do people have of South Korea? In photographer Steve Roe’s lens, South Korea is a “city of the future” — the photos he took there are bathed in neon hues, evoking a grayscale futuristic world.
Steve Roe said that when taking photos in Seoul, he tried to mimic a futuristic style, such as scenes from the movie *Blade Runner (2020)*. As he walked the streets at night, he gradually stepped into this world. Sometimes he used prisms to create a floating holographic effect in the images, reminiscent of the world in the American sci-fi series *Altered Carbon*.
