Sanya: Swim with a buddy
Yalong Bay and Dadonghai are the most well-known swimming spots in Sanya, both equipped with complete lifeguard facilities. In contrast, “wild beaches” are usually remote, and in case of emergencies, rescue may be far out of reach. Therefore, visitors should be cautious when choosing where to swim.
It’s best to swim with a companion. Hotels in Sanya are only a few hundred meters from the beach, so there are no dedicated cloakrooms by the sea. When heading to the beach, avoid bringing valuables, and it’s advisable to ask a friend to watch your belongings while you’re swimming.
