No need to worry about excess baggage when shopping abroad — EVA Air adds 10kg to free checked luggage allowance

Frequent travelers who love to shop overseas have good reason to celebrate. Following China Airlines’ increase of the free checked baggage allowance by 10kg starting July 15 this year, EVA Air and UNI Air will also raise their free checked baggage allowance by 10kg from October 1.

EVA Air announced that for all EVA and UNI Air tickets (for cross-strait and international routes) issued on or after September 24 with a departure date after October 1 this year, the free checked baggage allowance will be increased by 10kg (the piece-based free baggage allowance for transpacific routes such as the US and Canada remains unchanged). After the adjustment, each passenger in economy class can check in 30kg, elite class passengers can check in 35kg, and business class, Royale Class, and Royal Laurel Class passengers can check in 40kg.

China Airlines, which was the first to introduce this benefit, began offering an additional 10kg free checked baggage allowance for all cabin classes on its own flights to and from Asia, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe starting July 15.
