Nationwide First in New Taipei’s Sanxia: A Children’s Archaeological Experience Room Where Digging and Restoring Artifacts Is All the Rage

New Taipei City’s Sanxia Museum has officially launched the nation’s first children’s archaeological experience room, allowing kids to engage in everything from digging and measuring to sorting and touching-based restoration, all while experiencing the joy of being an archaeologist through play.

Chen Chunlan, director of the Sanxia Museum, said the children’s archaeological experience room is a specially designed space for young visitors, featuring a rare and comprehensive set of archaeological tools. The goal is for children visiting the Sanxia Museum not only to learn about archaeology inside the museum but also to have more fun through hands-on activities such as excavating sand pits, measuring and sorting artifacts, and conducting restorations.

In addition, the archaeological experience room features an interactive photo wall where visitors can choose their favorite archaeological gear and take creative photos in front of themed backdrops, posing as archaeologists in the coolest and most stylish ways.
