Xi'an, Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At noon on February 5, Ping An Life Insurance completed the settlement of the first batch of four claims related to the TransAsia Airways air disaster in Taiwan, with an estimated payout of 456,000 yuan. The company also provided full support to three families of the victims traveling to Taiwan. Support for additional family members is currently underway. Ping An stated that it will stand by the families during this difficult time and offer full assistance and psychological counseling to all families of mainland passengers on the flight.

According to the latest data, as of 11:00 a.m. on the 5th, Ping An's life, property, pension, and health insurance divisions have identified a total of 15 valid customers affected by the air disaster. This includes eight life insurance customers—four deceased, two missing, and two injured; three property insurance customers, though all with minor injuries and likely not requiring compensation; three pension insurance customers—one deceased and two missing; and one health insurance VIP medical examination customer, who has been confirmed deceased. In addition to the life insurance division having already completed settlements for the four deceased customers, follow-up work and claims processing for other affected customers are being carried out intensively.

Ping An Life Insurance’s branches in Xiamen and Dalian reported that on the 5th, they arranged for three families of the victims to travel to Taiwan. Branch employees provided full accompaniment, the company managed the airport send-off, and upon arrival, Taiwan’s Fubon Life Insurance assisted with the airport pick-up..During the handling of this incident, Ping An Life’s partner institutions, Taiwan’s Fubon Life Insurance and Nan Shan Life Insurance, demonstrated a spirit of mutual aid among compatriots. They assisted Ping An Life in efficiently conducting customer situation assessments and providing comfort to injured customers, and will continue to follow up on the reception and subsequent arrangements for families traveling to Taiwan.

In response to the TransAsia Airways air disaster on February 4, subsidiaries of Ping An including life, property, pension, and health insurance have successively launched more than 30 emergency measures and urgently upgraded their overseas emergency rescue services. Regardless of whether individuals are Ping An customers, anyone can call Ping An’s 24-hour service hotline 95511 for assistance. Ping An will continue to monitor the situation, provide 24-hour accompaniment to the families of victims, and offer all necessary aid including free transportation, station pick-up and drop-off, and hotel accommodation arrangements. A team of professional psychological counselors will also be available to provide one-on-one emotional support to all affected families in need.
