BeijingFeb. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 4, the "Splendid Hunan, Happy Hunan" Travel Photography Exhibition opened at the East Hall of China Millennium Monument in Beijing. Attendees at the opening ceremony included Zhang Tongsheng, Vice Chairman of the China Photographers Association; Liu Yu, Director of the Photographic Art Center of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Rong Yan, Director of the New Media Center of Xinhua News Agency's Picture Center; Xie Zilong, Chairman of the Hunan Photographers Association; and Gong Tiejun, Head of the Market Department of the Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau.

This photography exhibition is the offline counterpart to the "Splendid Hunan, Happy Hunan" First Travel Photography Exhibition. "Splendid Hunan, Happy Hunan" First Travel Photography Exhibition The "Splendid Hunan, Happy Hunan" First Travel Photography Exhibition was jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the China Photographers Association, Xinhua News Agency's Picture Center, the Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau, and the Hunan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and was hosted by the Hunan Photographers Association.
This exhibitionSince its launch on September 4, 2014, and over the following three and a half months, the competition received a total of 30,129 entries. After three rounds of judging by a panel comprising members of the China Photographers Association, Xinhua News Agency's Picture Center, and the Hunan Photographers Association, a total of 140 works were selected as prize-winning collections in diamond, gold, silver, bronze, and quality categories. The photo "Wingsuit Flying Over Tianmen Mountain" taken by Zhang Xueqin won the Diamond Quality Collection Award worth 100,000 RMB.
This exhibitionAs part of the 2015 Beijing International Photography Week, nearly 200 award-winning works in various categories, specially recommended pieces, and invited works will be displayed. Through the lens of photographers, the exhibition showcases the diverse facets of Hunan, presenting to the world the province’s new international image featuring beautiful ecological surroundings, rich cultural heritage, harmonious society, and rapid economic development. The exhibition runs until February 25.
