Those who have watched “College, We’re Talking About It” will surely remember Show Xian, one of the original cast members? This time, the two super-popular queue-worthy eateries introduced by 《ETtoday Eastday News Cloud》 are recent hotspots on IG. Both shops were opened by Show Xian and his friends. Since he’s Japanese, Sato Curry serves an authentic family recipe from his wife’s Japanese hometown, making it very genuine. And then there’s Rokukaku, the boss’s latest brainchild, which specializes in omurice rice, also attracting many young people to come and worship!

▲ The two stores are located right next door to each other—even sharing the same address.
It’s no exaggeration—two such delicious restaurants are actually right next to each other. One is dedicated to curry, the other to omurice rice, each with a clear theme, eliminating concerns over customer stealing, but instead attracting even more repeat visits. Both share the same address, with Rokukaku situated just around the corner from Sato Curry. It seems they’ve divided the same space into two shops, but because of this setup, there aren’t many seats for dine-in, and queues are common during peak hours.

▲ Sato Curry comes with a sunny-side-up egg, and uniquely, it also has enoki mushrooms in it.

▲ Their mixed-flavor Calpis is also quite special.
Let’s start with Sato Curry first. Dubbed “Taipei’s trendiest curry,” everything from the interior decor to the staff has personality. Their curry has a just-right thickness, and you can choose between beef, pork, or a mixed option. The layout features the curry on one side, white rice on the other, with a perfectly placed half-boiled sunny-side-up egg in the middle—and the egg doesn’t cost extra. The shop also recommends adding cheese and sausages for an even better taste. Interestingly, they put enoki mushrooms in the curry, and the rice is a specially selected variety from Yuli, Hualien—chewy, delicious, nutritious, and healthy—truly excellent!

Next door, Rokukaku has a beautiful exterior that takes advantage of its corner location to give off the vibe of a European café. Paired with its pure-white look, those sitting by the window might find themselves under the gaze of passersby. There are three main dishes: double-sauce chicken cutlet, double-sauce hamburger steak, and Southeast Asian green curry chicken omurice. The sauces are rich yet not greasy, paired with fluffy rice and cheese—it’s hearty and unforgettable. If you can handle spice, adding more heat enhances the flavor. Their sparkling drinks are beautifully layered, and pairing them with your meal creates a nice balance in taste.

It’s worth mentioning that the dine-in and takeout prices at both shops differ by about 30–50 NT dollars. Also, if you pair a drink with your meal, you get almost half off. However, choosing to dine in doesn’t incur any additional service charge. To be honest, although you may need to wait for a table at both, the food comes out quickly, the staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and best of all, there are lots of handsome guys—it’s a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, perfect for young people. So next time you’re passing through Liuzhangli, stop by and decide based on your mood whether to go for curry or omurice!
