Love this in cold weather！ A Tainan beef hot pot you can only get by reservation

The thought of eating beef hot pot probably comes around when the weather turns slightly cool. I used to come here in spring, but with the recent strong autumn vibes, it reminded me of San Da again. I’m also here to update some photos, and the most important part is probably the menu!! (Boss, I want the Lin Chi-ling Hot Pot!!!)

Spring is such an unpredictable season—one day it might be so hot you’re wearing short sleeves and still sweating, and the next day it pours rain, with temperatures plummeting like a slide. But because the temperature dropped, I finally got the chance to finish writing this hot pot article I hadn’t completed. As for whether there will be more after this? There are theoretically a few more places I want to cover, but in reality, it still depends on the weather. Going with the flow is the way to go.

Previously, I came to the legendary San Da Beef Hot Pot based on a netizen’s recommendation. Just as they said, the place was packed—even outside peak dining hours—and thanks to their tip, we made a reservation in advance.

Once again, thank you to this kind netizen. Thanks to your advice, I saved a lot of time.

This price is pretty standard in Tainan—not expensive, not cheap, just within the normal range. You serve yourself the hot pot ingredients and veggies, but our family of three couldn’t even finish it, let alone order more.

I’d also like to take this chance to praise San Da Beef Hot Pot—the service is quick and efficient, the staff is friendly, and they’re especially nice to customers with kids, making the whole dining experience very pleasant. The beef hot pot comes with a plate of meat, but our family is known for loving beef, so we definitely had to order at least one more plate！

The boss also thoughtfully prepared two types of beef cuts. Compared to the dozens of Tainan beef soup shops I’ve been to, San Da’s beef selection is indeed top-notch. Paired with a clear yet subtly pepper-flavored broth, it’s no wonder the place is always packed.

This one I ordered out of curiosity... the black-looking rice

The moment it was served, I couldn’t help but chuckle. Turns out it was just beef minced rice. It did indeed look black-ish. San Da’s beef minced rice is a bit different from that of Kang Le Street Beef Soup—aside from being lighter in color and having finer meat cubes, it also has a mild peppery taste like the broth. Filling yet refined.

I was very satisfied with this dining experience. But you get what you pay for—good beef usually isn’t cheap. Next time I’ll have to bring more people along, both for the lively atmosphere and to make it more cost-effective. San Da Beef Soup, see you next time.
