The annual Macao Light Festival and Fantasy Color Grand Parade will dazzle on December 4!

December in Macao is filled with a strong festive ambiance!"2016 Macao Light Festival – The Secret Treasures of Light"will be held from December 4 to 31 at multiple scenic spots in Macao, featuring colorful light sculpture performances, light installations, interactive games, and light music shows. In the afternoon of December 4, the lively"Macao Latin District Fantasy Color Grand Parade"will also make its debut. In December, visitors can enjoy the brilliant light sculptures and light shows of the Macao Light Festival, take part in the Fantasy Color Grand Parade, and admire the romantic Christmas lights decorating the city’s streets and alleys. Travelers are welcome to visit Macao and feel the boundless festive cheer.

The "2016 Macao Light Festival – The Secret Treasures of Light" will be held from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm every evening from December 4 to 31,with routes covering eight locations: the Nam Van Lake Water Activities Centre, Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van, Av. da Praia Grande – Yick Cheong Building, St. Lawrence’s Church, Mandarin’s House, Largo do Lilau, the Maritime Museum Building, and the Ruins of St. Paul’s Forecourt.The story is themed around the search for the "Secret Treasures of Light", seeking seven energy gemstones lost by the Goddess Mazu that embody the qualities of "hope", "perseverance", "health", "happiness", "harvest", "bravery", and "fidelity". The entire production incorporates innovative light and shadow technology. In addition to being projected onto buildings, the light sculpture performance at the Nam Van Lake Water Activities Centre will also be projected onto a water screen. Five interactive games are included to help the public become more immersed in this virtual reality journey.

In addition,this year’s "Macao Latin District Fantasy Color Grand Parade" is themed "VIVA’s Mountain and Sea Adventure" and will take place on December 4 at 4:00 pm. The event’s main character, VIVA, invites everyone to enter the fantastical world of the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" (Shan Hai Jing)! This year, the parade will begin at the Ruins of St. Paul’s and Senado Square, encountering mythical creatures and deities along the way who will all join the journey, before finally arriving at Tap Seac Square for a party celebrating "love, peace, and cultural inclusiveness"!
