Typhoon Ampil (international name: AMPIL), a mild typhoon, is located 70 kilometers northeast of the Ryukyu Islands (670 kilometers northeast of Taipei) and is moving northwest at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The maximum wind speed near its center is 25 meters per second (approximately 90 kilometers per hour), equivalent to Force 10 winds. It is forecast that at 8:00 AM on the 22nd, the center of the typhoon will be 130 kilometers southeast of Shanghai. Ships navigating or operating in the sea areas near the Ryukyu Islands and the southern part of the East China Sea should exercise particular caution.

On the 21st and 22nd, under the influence of the peripheral circulation of Typhoon No. 10 and tropical low pressure systems or possibly another typhoon, northern Taiwan, the eastern half of the island, and the Hengchun Peninsula will experience brief showers or thunderstorms. Other regions, as well as Penghu and Kinmen, may see localized brief showers or thunderstorms, with a chance of localized heavy rain. Matsu will have mostly cloudy weather.

Another tropical low-pressure system with a pressure of 1000 hPa is located over the sea between the central and western Spratly Islands, moving northeast at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour, with a tendency to develop into a mild typhoon.

The weekend will continue to be hot, with temperatures reaching 32–34°C. Take precautions against heatstroke when going out, and it’s advisable to carry rain gear.
