Moomin Café Celebrates One Year in Taiwan with 24 New Dishes and Limited-Edition Lucky Bags Now Available

The Moomin-themed restaurant Moomin Café, which has been popular in Japan for 13 years, opened its only branch in Taiwan in Taipei’s East District last July. Now marking its first anniversary, it has launched 24 new dishes and limited-edition lucky bags.

The first wave features 24 new delicious items available starting today. The second wave will see the release of 100 limited-edition lucky bags from July 28, with each bag’s value being three times its selling price.

Moomin offers over a thousand kinds of merchandise, all imported from Japan.

Additionally, a consumption rewards campaign is being launched. From July 21 to August 31, diners who spend NT$1,000 or more at the restaurant will receive one complimentary dessert/drink voucher.

Meanwhile, fans are most excited about Moomin Day on August 9. For the first time in Taiwan, a limited-edition Japanese-made Moomin Day commemorative mug ($380) will be released in sync with Japan, with only 30 available nationwide. To celebrate the café’s first anniversary, from August 1, customers who spend NT$1,500 or more at the merchandise section can exchange for one limited-edition 2018 Moomin Day tote bag.

With the Moomin mother’s famous quote “All fun is good for the stomach!” as its brand spirit, Moomin Café is celebrating its first anniversary in Taiwan by launching 24 new dishes. From salads, desserts, classic meals, main courses, pasta, risotto, to sweets—there’s something new for everyone. Moomin characters can be found throughout the dishes, bringing both delicious flavors and adorable surprises.
