The seaside carousel is an absolute eye-catcher – Taiwan’s newest and most colorful hotspot for photos!

With design elements including wind, sunlight, fish, boats, the ocean, and lighthouses, Dongshi Fishing Port showcases a diverse range of marine scenery and has always been a favorite summer playground for people of all ages. After a major renovation in 2018, it added many new attractions such as a carousel, painted walls, windmills, and colorful little houses, sparking yet another wave of photo opportunities.

After the renovation, Dongshi Fishing Port first introduced ocean-themed landscaping and murals in the parking area. Upon exiting the parking lot, visitors will see a Dutch windmill structure, followed by the Solar Path Avenue, which blends global vision with artistic flair – starting from Taiwan and gradually extending westward along the track.

Further along, you’ll find several pieces of installation art. Additionally, the long-idle oyster shell house has been renovated and repurposed as a visitor center. The colorful little houses on either side are now home to various shops, offering items like fruit popsicles and handmade soy sauce, as well as specialty kitchens opened by returning youth.

A recreational area called Jiayou Amusement Park has also been set up in front of the oyster shell house. It features play equipment such as a carousel and coffee cups, as well as a miniature N23.5 Ferris wheel. Currently, it is being prepared for an official launch.
