The Central Weather Bureau continues to issue updated marine and land typhoon warnings for powerful Typhoon Maria. Its speed has slightly decreased but then risen back to 30 km/h as it moves northwest. On the 10th, counties and cities north of Miaoli and Yilan have successively suspended work and classes after 3 p.m., while Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je stated that a decision on whether to suspend work and classes on the 11th will be announced by 8 p.m. on the 10th.

Severe Typhoon Maria (international name: MARIA) is located 460 km east of Yilan over the sea and moving northwest. Its typhoon circle is rapidly approaching the northeastern offshore areas of Taiwan. Yilan, New Taipei, Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Hualien, and Matsu should remain on high alert and guard against strong winds and heavy rain.

The western half of Taiwan, particularly flat areas north of Taichung and Yilan, should beware of heavy rain. Localized heavy rain or downpours may occur in mountainous areas of Taoyuan City, Yilan County, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, and Taichung City. Southern counties and cities as well as mountainous areas of Taitung should also be cautious of possible localized heavy rainfall. Be wary of landslides, falling rocks, debris flows, and flash floods. Low-lying coastal areas should be on guard against flooding, and avoid entering mountainous regions and river activities.

According to the typhoon dynamic chart and forecasts from the Central Weather Bureau, the typhoon's circulation will still not have left northern Taiwan by the morning of the 11th.
