Finding a pet to adopt at an animal shelter is both joyful and heartbreaking.
There are still many little dogs curled up in the corners. When you call out to them through the wire fence, you’ll see their tiny bodies trembling, as if sobbing, not even brave enough to turn their heads to look at you.
They never imagined they might have a second home, nor did they think the pain of losing their home would ever end—only to be replaced by another kind of suffering: euthanasia.
When you decide to adopt a homeless puppy or kitten, and you arrive at the shelter, what you see will only make you feel how small your power really is… The issue of stray animals has always existed in society, and it requires everyone’s care and love to keep them off the streets.
