At first, Mama had always wanted to give Tuzimei a little kitchen. I browsed through all the toy kitchens!! Prices ranged from 60 to 200 Singapore dollars (NT$1300–5000)! So expensive!! Asked Daddy to take Tuzimei out!! Mama went to my favorite Daiso first to get inspiration, because everything being 2 dollars really attracted me!! I picked up this and that, and when it came time to check out, I’d spent nearly 30–40 dollars!! No—this defeats the purpose of making it myself!! I put all the rational purchases back—time to go home!! On the way home, I got lucky and found!! A big cardboard box~
It was the box for someone’s newly bought TV and speakers!! Awesome~!!
Let’s create endless imagination together with our kids!! The following animation is a video edited by Mama!! With background music too~!!
Mama gets lucky patrolling every day and collected a pile of cardboard boxes!! There were big ones for speakers and LCD screens!! Perfect!!
Started by digging a hole, then] inserted a cabinet in—so toys could be placed inside!!
There happened to be a whole box that fit just right. Wanted to make an oven~!!
Cut the 46” LCD screen box to match the width of the speaker box, then cut out a frame in the middle—now it looks more like a shopfront!! Haha~
Mama could only work on it secretly at night—because once Tuzimei showed up, no work could get done!!
Added a little awning!! Doesn’t it look even more like a shop now~!!
The prototype is done!! Used old white newspaper for wrapping!! Tuzimei came to draw pictures!! Couldn’t chase her away!!
Gave the awning red and white stripes!!
Awning done!! Next up are the table and counter!!
Cut a hole in the tabletop, popped Tuzimei’s old toy] in, then wrapped the counter—reassembled everything!! Wow!!
Made two drawers out of cardboard!! To store other toys
Wrapped them in gift paper, threaded beads to act as little handles!! Makes it easy for Tuzimei to pull out the drawers!!
Kept the leftover fruit boxes and bought a string of little lights from Daiso
Cut a hole to act as the oven glass!!
Pasted the transparent parts cut from fruit boxes, then installed the lights inside!!
Can now put cookies in!!
Turn on the lights~~ Ta-da!! Baking cookies Up~ Haha!! Then pasted fake number pieces to act as buttons!! The switch is hidden under the arrow!!
Mama, let me design the shopfront!! This is actually a tool I used for eating with before—haven’t touched it in ages!
Printed it out and laminated it!!
Cut—cut—cut—Tuzimei’s signboard head is done!!
Mama, I’m going to start decorating now!!
Paste—paste—paste!!
Hehe~!! Decorating complete~!! So cute!! Tuzimei saw it and said: Wow!! Then kept pretending to eat the cake stuck on top!! Gathered all Tuzimei’s old toys, Mama is going to make a Menu, but then Tuzimei messed around again!!
Old toys get a makeover, Tuzimei will probably find it fresh!! There are prices on them too, Mama hopes she can learn addition and subtraction while playing!!
Laminated into a booklet!! Doesn’t it look more like a Menu? Mama had a blast playing along!! So much fun!!
This is the lamp Dad specially bought from Daiso!! He kept saying it was too dark in here~!!
Dad even specifically picked an LED lamp~!!
Hahaha~ that's hilarious!! It totally has the vibe of a night market street stall!!
Bought a few small metal racks from Daiso, my little treasure is ready to open shop Up~!!
Busy hands while listening~!! So serious, huh~!! Turns out Bunny Girl is really good at pretending to be busy~!! She’s got the look down!! Mommy’s hard work hasn’t gone to waste~!!
Look at this boss lady~ bringing over the dishes!! Give her a round of applause~!! But then she spills it all over the floor!! Not very skilled, huh~!!]Authorized repost.
