"Mom, I need to pee!" Oh no, this is probably the last thing parents want to hear on the highway. Aside from calming a crying baby who can't sit still for too long, you also have to deal with this kind of emergency from older kids. Mom's tips offer four "emergency" methods suitable for little gentlemen and ladies:
This is something both adults and kids should always do before heading out: remind each other not to drink too much water or suddenly eat spicy food, and avoid drinks like soy milk, which can upset the stomach.
The day before departure, buy a large-mouthed drink bottle with a cap from a convenience store (practical tip: juice bottles work best). After drinking, wash it clean and put it in a plastic bag. On the day of the trip, place it in your child’s bag. If someone needs to pee but misses a gas station, just "aim and pee into the bottle," tighten the cap, wrap it up, and wipe your hands with a wet tissue. Later, pour the contents into a toilet and rinse the bottle clean for reuse next time. Please do not pour it into the sink.
Prepare three essentials before departure: line the bottom of a small trash bin with newspaper, then cover the bin with a plastic bag, and place another piece of newspaper under some cotton padding (unused diapers can also be used). If someone needs to use the bathroom during the journey, let the child pee directly onto it. Once done and absorbed, wrap it up like garbage and dispose of it in the toilet trash bin.
To allow for repeated use and to prevent the car from getting soiled (which would drive dad crazy), moms can first cover the small potty with a plastic bag, then lay down a diaper or cotton padding—convenient and hygienic.
When you’re out and about, nature’s calls are inevitable. With proper preparation, parents won’t have to panic too much. Never suddenly switch to the shoulder lane on the highway or stop directly on the shoulder to let your child pee. These actions not only come with penalties but also endanger life safety. Have a joyful trip during the New Year and return home safely. Mom's tips wish your whole family a pleasant journey.
