When couples travel abroad, they can easily get absorbed by the scenery and relaxing holiday atmosphere, often forgetting their children are around as they take photos and unwind. When Hong Bairong saw Song Damin gazing into the distance on the deck, she couldn’t help but ask what he was doing and wrote: “He said he was thinking about something~ I asked him what he was thinking about? He said there wasn’t really anything...” Then Hong Bairong joked and teased, “Then why are you being so pretentious~ Please move your body over to take care of the kids, okay?” This made netizens burst out laughing, calling the couple absolutely hilarious.

In addition, the children’s adjustment issues also left Hong Bairong both amused and exasperated. That afternoon, while the couple and their son were discussing the itinerary in the room, their daughter was taking a nap nearby. Mid-discussion, the daughter suddenly sat up and complained, “You guys are so noisy!” After saying that, she walked towards the toilet. “At first I thought she was going to the toilet, but after five minutes she still hadn’t come out. So I rushed into the toilet and saw our little princess sleeping… in… the… bathtub? What kind of protest is this?” She also took a photo of her daughter sleeping in the bathtub.

The next day, Song Damin posted the story of his daughter sleeping in the bathtub on Facebook. Many people thought the little girl’s behavior was absolutely adorable, and some joked, “Did she watch the Korean drama ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’? Haha, sleeping in the bathtub.” Traveling with kids really comes with a lot of challenges, and whether you’re celebrity parents or regular ones, you often find yourselves at a loss—especially when it comes to nap habits. If not well arranged, it can affect the itinerary and ruin the mood of the trip, which defeats the purpose of going abroad to relax.
If you’re worried your child might cry during the flight, you can choose a flight time that aligns with their nap time or close to their usual bedtime, which better matches their routine and can also ease discomfort caused by takeoff and landing. Additionally, it’s recommended to plan a child’s first trip abroad around the age of one and a half, as children at this age can usually stay awake for longer periods and typically take longer naps. If the nap time coincides with the flight, the child will likely fall asleep naturally on the plane and wake up upon arrival, ensuring they get enough rest while also sparing parents the stress of dealing with a fussy child mid-flight.

In terms of itinerary planning, it should also be flexible and not too packed. Traveling abroad is actually quite physically demanding for children, and if naps aren’t well scheduled, it’s easy for them to become exhausted by the afternoon. Many parent-child tour itineraries include designated nap times, and some even accommodate late rising habits by delaying morning activities. Parents can take reference from these and observe their child’s habits to adjust accordingly. Of course, it’s also advised to bring a stroller for young children when traveling abroad, to easily accommodate nap needs, and it’s recommended to avoid destinations with large time differences to prevent poor adjustment for the child.
