This park is really hidden and has no official name, so let’s just call it the Miaoli HSR Children’s Park for now.
You definitely won’t find it on Google Maps. From Freeway 2, take the Dashan Interchange and head toward the Hakka Roundhouse. From Freeway 1, exit at Touwu, then connect to the expressway toward Houlong. Exit at Xingang, make an immediate right onto Xingang Road, then take the first right to reach the park.

We drove around but didn’t find any designated parking. You can park along the roadside near the park. It’s a small path, and almost no cars go out of their way to come here. The first thing you see is a beautiful small lake with HSR tracks nearby — no wonder we kept hearing the whooshing sound. Go down the stairs and you’ll find a full wall of climbing structures. Fubao immediately started climbing, and little Fubao tried to follow his brother, surprisingly strong enough to climb to the first level before racing toward the slides. There are both single and double-layer waterfall slides. The Wang family usually brings cardboard boxes when sliding, but the slope here is steep enough that the boxes are too slippery. There are six slides in total. Behind the slides is a whole area of spinning equipment — even more fun than the slides. Sit on them and they just keep spinning. The personal coffee cup ride spins faster the more you try to get off, and it only stops if your feet touch the ground. The super exciting big spinning disc requires you to keep your balance while walking on it, or it keeps turning. The HSR trains pass by more frequently than expected — about one every five minutes — and the sound is quite startling.
Postscript: When visiting this area, you can plan to explore Houlong and the Hakka Roundhouse together. Wanhaodian is also worth including. Here’s a recommended one-day itinerary: View the wind turbines at Houlong Wanhaodian –> Eat oden and rice balls at Houlong Temple Street –> Visit the Hakka Roundhouse –> Explore the Miaoli HSR Children’s Park
