“Jingle bells, jingle bells...” Even before December arrives and the weather isn’t that cold yet, you’ve probably already started to notice the joyful and romantic Christmas decorations in every shopping district and street corner?! The holiday season fills the entire city with a strong festive and happy atmosphere.
During Christmas, many shopping districts, hotels, and restaurants deck the halls festively. In addition to New Taipei City’s dazzling Christmas celebrations, this year there's one must-visit photo spot you can't miss — the upscale shopping mall “BELLAVITA” in Xinyi District. While some might only ever walk past these glitzy places, the central atrium’s Christmas display this year is definitely a hotspot for families.

It feels as if you've stepped right into Santa Claus’s snowy white fairytale village, where fine white gravel creates the illusion of a ground blanketed in snow — pure white romance. Snow-frosted little wooden cabins, each inviting you to peek inside, exude a strong international charm, letting you and your kids experience the beauty of a European town without even boarding a plane.
The high-ceilinged atrium lets you look up to see a sleigh waiting to be loaded with gifts by Santa Claus himself, ready for departure. The light filtering through the glass roof may not offer a huge space, but it fills the whole area with an overwhelming sense of happiness.
Looking down from the second floor, you’ll see little wooden cabins on the snowy ground bustling with kids and adults alike, darting around in search of Christmas gifts.
The white gravel has sent the kids into a frenzy of joy.
From the eaves extending into the cabins, lavish crystal chandeliers and casually hanging glass balls become the most colorful and warm decorations in the cold, snowy season.
Each wooden cabin is exquisitely and thoughtfully decorated, and this one is a favorite among children — a candy house. But let’s all remember to be good: no decorations, toys, or props should be taken or damaged, no matter how tempting they are.
In Taiwan, although the festive spirit may not be as intense as abroad, dreamlike scenes straight out of fairy tales still captivate the heart and bring radiant smiles of happiness. Christmas always carries a magical power that brings joy, and kids look forward to their gifts every year. Are you getting ready yet?!
Don’t forget to decorate the Christmas tree with your kids and share Christmas stories together. By the way, when moving, Dad actually threw away the heirloom Christmas tree that came from my parents’ home as a dowry gift. So mad!! Maybe we should just buy an even bigger one this time? (laughs)
