This time inTaichung, I really visited many great new spots, and one of them was “Audit Village” on Minsheng Road in West District.Originally, this was an unused piece of land. The government, in support of young people’s entrepreneurial dreams, transformed it into a vibrant hub.
Not only did it breathe new life into these previously idle buildings, but it also provided a creative space for young entrepreneurs. Even more impressively, after its renovation, the architecture adopted a European style—when you visit, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a European town square.

I’m not sure if it turns into a market on weekends, but when we visited on the second day of the Lunar New Year, the small street was lined with handmade crafts by creators. Paired with the surrounding European-style buildings, it truly felt like a market in a European village. Taichung really has so many amazing public spaces to explore, and it makes us appreciate the city even more.
Although the street isn’t very long, it’s packed with creative cultural and artistic items made by young people. You can find unique and trendy products here—maybe even something that will become the next big trend.
Aside from shopping for cultural goods, there are also several restaurants here where you can enjoy snacks and coffee, adding to the charming atmosphere of this European-style town.
Xiaohai also bought a bottle of almond milk to try. We saw a young couple selling various milk-based drinks. The almond milk has a 5:5 ratio, and after drinking it, the sweet taste of almonds replaces that of regular milk—it’s smooth and delicious. There are also many other flavors to choose from, and we’d love to come back and try them next time.
Besides the first-floor market, many people also head up to the second floor to enjoy views of this quaint market town.
Perhaps it’s the environment and the warm sunlight, but you can see lots of couples taking sweet photos together. The place has a romantic vibe that makes it easy for couples to snap candid shots—and even as bystanders, we could feel the love between them.
That kind of glowing happiness makes you want to wish them well, and I think that’s the feeling “Audit Village” gives off.
Of course, there are also artistic wall paintings around the area that make for great photo ops.
Visiting Audit Village on the second day of the Lunar New Year really gave us the sense of being in a European market town. We really loved the beauty of the environment here—it’s just wonderful.
