But now, the Taipei Traditional Markets Festival—entering its tenth year—has come up with a solution. On April 8th and 9th, it will gather top vendors from traditional markets at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park’s Circular Garden Plaza and Flower Sea Plaza, inviting you to enjoy delicious, worry-free meals while letting your kids explore safely!

The event will feature time-honored establishments like “Dongmencheng Braised Pork Rice,” a 60-year-old shop that will demonstrate how to filter excess oil through multiple preparation steps. “Beitou Aicai Braised Pork Rice,” carrying on the legacy of its founder’s father, will take you back to familiar flavors. For a healthier, less greasy option, try “Dongmen Orange Vegetable Vegetarian Rice,” which offers nutritious plant-based cuisine. And for something new and creative, “Anton Japanese-style Creative Braised Pork Rice” combines Japanese cooking techniques with refreshing side dishes—perfect for kids!

In addition to traditional market snacks, there will be a dazzling array of handmade fabric bags to discover. After enjoying the food, let the kids burn off some energy—the “Kids’ Supercar Playground” at the Flower Sea Plaza is offering free trial play. Just pick up an event guide leaflet from the festival and show your stub to join in!
