A group of like-minded parents. It’s rare
During their children’s school years, they gradually realize that when kids attend prestigious schools, there are naturally quite a few parents who prioritize academic performance, and the level of nurturing their children in various fields is not something that can be easily understood.
In such an environment, encountering a few like-minded and passionate parents is a rare bond. Through one class trip after another, family bonds grow even stronger.

This semester, the kids organized a softball baseball tournament. Every weekend during the winter break, the adults gathered to play sports with the kids, often having matches where the kids played on one team and we played on another. Even when a dad threw out his back or a mom took a tumble, we dedicated parents endured the sore muscles and kept practicing with the kids, putting aside our physical discomfort—all with the unspoken understanding that!
The tournament had been postponed twice, and we thought it might be canceled again this morning because final exams were coming up next week. We were worried about the kids’ anxiety and hoped they could have their games as scheduled today.
At around 7:00 a.m., one of the moms from the class started sweeping the field. A dad and I joined in, using scrapers to drain the water off the field. Then, the school’s PE teachers noticed and also pitched in. After more than two hours, we finally got the field ready for play.
Today, the kids won their second game. Their hard work during the matches moved us. Seeing their focused expressions and the teamwork on display, the three of us parents felt it was all worth it!
.The kids seemed to sense their parents’ dedication, and everyone performed above their usual level. When they finally tasted victory, the joy was beyond words.
During their school years, kids should study hard when it’s time to study and play hard when it’s time to play. A positive, optimistic attitude is definitely the foundation for building a well-rounded personality.
Parents lead by example—just do it!
