Summer is all about water play—and Shuangbao A-Mu takes you to a free one, too!, one of the landmark sights in Longtan District.
It’s said that in the early days, even during multiple droughts, the water level in Longtan Pond remained high. Locals believed that praying for rain by the pond would bring rainfall. Later, it was said that on a stormy night, a yellow dragon appeared in the pond, leading to the area being renamed “Longtanpi” and “Longtan Village.” Since then, the name “Longtan” has been used.

Behind Longtan Pond (remember to drive to the back), there is a water slide that not only has a rather unique design but, more importantly, is free—a free water play area for kids.
When they saw the big dragon head, my two little ones immediately rushed up to try it out—but they said it was a bit thrilling and scary!( )
The splash pool here is shallow, with a large dragon head slide in the center. Kids can climb up via the stairs at the dragon’s tail and slide down from the front dragon head.
There’s also a super mini slide at the dragon’s tail, perfect for toddlers.
The big dragon head is made of mosaic tiles and is quite intricately designed. There are even caves along the dragon’s body where children can crawl through for extra fun.

The big dragon head sprays water at timed intervals, making the water slide even more exciting. That’s when my little ones dared not try it, saying they’d end up swallowing water. Haha.
However, going to play during summer holidays means it gets really crowded. Parents, please watch your kids’ safety yourselves.
I saw a child fall in the pool, possibly hitting a nearby rock, and ended up with blood on their mouth and teeth. Yikes.
Eh… With so many people, the water does get murky, but there are actually staff on-site who regularly clean up the larger debris floating around.
There are no changing rooms here—only outdoor water jets for a quick rinse.
The space isn’t very large, so it’s recommended to bring your own picnic mat like I did, so you can easily sit and take a break.
Come cool off with some water fun this summer.
