%Several street lamps hold broken glass globes... around the site, there are also some abandoned vehicles that leave a strong impression on visitors.%
%The entrance gate of the site is made from clam shells crafted by local artisans. The design reflects the history of the place as well as its unique rural background. You can see the “clam gate” composed of several large shells, and if you look closely, you’ll find that each shell has its own distinct texture and pattern. Perhaps this is what gives the clam gate its unique charm. Moreover, the individual shells are not too large, but together they create an unexpectedly powerful visual impact.%
%Before heading into the site, you might want to take a moment to observe the clam barracks from the outside first. This way, we can better understand the background of the site.%
%One question you might have is: which parts of the site are still in use today? Don’t worry, we’ll tell you. The building right at the front is currently in use.%
The Clam Barracks is also currently used by the Changhua County Handicrafts Association. The very first building you see up front is the one being actively utilized.
% Haven’t you seen these activities either? /

% I highly recommend everyone to visit. The rooftop of the Clam Barracks is one of the best angles for capturing moody, artistic photos. /
% The rooftop of the Clam Barracks is currently a popular spot for photos and workouts. There’s even a couple who often exercises here. Back then, many people came specifically because of it. Later, some even started using the roof for photography shoots or to imitate movie scenes, gradually transforming the Clam Barracks into a multifunctional spot. However, the rooftop is no longer as peaceful as before. /
% Although the Clam Barracks have recently become a new hotspot for green-themed photos, Sister Xi has noticed that some people climb onto the roof just to get a better view. She strongly disagrees with this behavior, as it not only damages the buildings but also poses safety risks. /
% So, if you’re like Sister Xi and love taking green-themed photos, it’s better to stick to shooting from the ground. Climbing up and down is really dangerous. /
% Is it or isn’t it? The Clam Barracks offer a perfect backdrop for those who love cozy, artistic vibes. /
% I think this is the charm of the Clam Barracks. The contrast between the greenery of the trees and the blue of the rooftops creates a striking visual effect. /
% A wave of nostalgia has swept through the greenery, with military dependents' villages and historical sites becoming popular photo spots among young people. The Clam Barracks, standing in Xianxi Township, Changhua County, has thus caught the attention of many travelers. The Clam Barracks were once buildings left behind by the coastal defense troops stationed in Xianxi. In 2008, it was designated as a cultural landscape of Changhua County. /
% Everyone has their own preferences. I personally also find it quite a soothing place. /
% The single-story Clam Barracks No. 1 has a history of about 50 years.
% It's said that 50% of the photos taken here are postured like this—actually, many photography enthusiasts come here time and again just to capture unique angles. Standing in front of this building from a bygone era, you’ll feel as if you've stumbled upon a small yet extraordinary piece of history, witnessing an era that once was.
% When the photo session doesn’t go quite right, just step back a little—you might accidentally find the perfect shot. That’s how it is sometimes; it’s like someone else pressed the shutter at just the right moment.
% I’m truly grateful to all of you who have supported me over the years. This place holds so many wonderful memories.
Today I’ll just share a bit like this. Lastly, a reminder: the buildings of the Clam Barracks are over 50 years old,
so while taking beautiful photos, besides watching your own safety, please also avoid damaging or destroying the structures.
Wishing everyone a perfect pose and a super fun photoshoot experience!
