Situated in Wenshan District, Taipei, the “Fudekeng Eco-Restoration Park” is near the Taipei Zoo and Maokong Gondola. It was formerly the first large-scale sanitary landfill in Taipei — the Fudekeng Sanitary Landfill. In operation from 1985 to 1994, it was later replaced by the Shanzhuku Sanitary Landfill in Nangang when its service life expired. In 2004, it was transformed into the “Fudekeng Eco-Restoration Park.” Covering a total area of approximately 98 hectares, the park offers facilities such as a sledding hill, bicycle paths, pedestrian walkways, and a remote-controlled aircraft area.

Fudekeng Eco-Restoration Park has a free parking lot nearby, and there will be staff on hand to help with registration and assist with sledding. In case of rainy weather, except whenthe weather forecast predicts a 70% chance of rain in Taipei, which will result in the park being definitively closed, otherwise, please call (02)8230-1969 in advance to check with the on-duty personnel whether the site is temporarily closed due to wet or muddy conditions.

After registration, you can sled for free as many times as you like (queuing is required). When it’s your turn, you need to pull the sled up to the starting point by yourself to begin sledding. Each sled can accommodate up to two people. The ride down takes about 10 seconds, and the grassy slope is quite long, making the experience exhilarating, thrilling, and super fun.

You can hear the excited screams of both adults and children echoing throughout the park.

Xiaorou got tired after helping her kids pull their sleds to the start point just twice... Later, Dad Q volunteered to pull two sleds up at a time so the kids could have a great time.

Adults can also ride with kids (maximum of two people per sled), and everyone had a blast.

There is also a large grassy area nearby where you can fly kites or have a picnic, offering a comfortable and relaxing experience. In recent years, Fudekeng has become a popular weekend destination for families. With nearby attractions like the Taipei Zoo and Maokong Gondola, you can easily plan a one-day trip using public transportation.
