A vast, colorful sea of flowers—urban flower parks become new hotspots for Instagram-worthy blooms

Taoyuan not only boasts many flower farms in the suburbs ideal for flower viewing, but the city center also features a colorful sea of flowers at Fenghe Park on Cimin Road. The park previously hosted a Driftwood Art Festival in 2017, showcasing various large driftwood art installations. This year, it has created a dog-themed floral display to celebrate the Year of the Dog, attracting visitors eager to take photos.

Originally designed as a disaster-prevention park, the municipal government has revitalized Fenghe Park’s landscape and leisure functions by adding facilities such as slides, accessible rest pathways, and an amphitheater. It has also developed a water-friendly greenbelt, using 500,000 potted flowers to create dog-themed “Prosperity” floral displays across three parks: Fenghe Park in Taoyuan, Fuxing Parent-Child Park in Pingzhen District, and Puding Park in Daxi District.

Among them, Fenghe Park’s design takes the shape of a Ruyi (scepter symbolizing good fortune), using red, gold, and arcs to represent completeness and good luck. Pingzhen’s Fuxing Parent-Child Park features a cat-themed flower sea shaped like pink paw prints, while Daxi’s Puding Park adopts a kaleidoscope concept for its floral design.

Besides enjoying the flower sea, visitors to Fenghe Park can also check out unique slides, an amphitheater, and large driftwood artworks that enhance the vibrant floral scenery.
