Taipei foodies get a big surprise: accommodation vouchers and afternoon tea for just NT$50

The "2010 Taipei International Gourmet Show" event brings together hotels, restaurants, and home appliance businesses, offering discount vouchers, coupons, and cash vouchers worth NT$100 to NT$3,800. A total of 15 participating Ximending district restaurants, including the Toilet Theme Restaurant, Victoria Tea Restaurant, Mitani Japanese Pork Cutlet Specialty Shop, Qitiao Long Charcoal Grilled Pork, Tianwaitian Premium Hotpot, Meiguan Inn, Makedo Italian Kitchen, Shell Love Talk Restaurant, Peony Open-air Restaurant, Tricycle, Menkardi Charcoal Coffee, Mengdian Maid Café, and Egg Egg House Western Restaurant, have each placed two "Surprise Capsule Machines" at their entrances. Customers can use a NT$50 coin to spin for great deals.

Inside the Surprise Capsule Machines are over 40 types of discount coupons, such as accommodation vouchers, hot spring vouchers, meal exchange coupons, cash vouchers, and exquisite gifts. These include Master Hostel accommodation vouchers, Sanho brand induction cooktops, Shuimei Hot Spring Club VIP coupons, r?? dining tickets, ??? restaurant lunch coupons, Tao Le Theme Restaurant gift sets, Wugui Hotpot dessert vouchers, Taroko Café NT$100 cash vouchers, and more. Each coupon in the capsule is definitely worth more than double the NT$50 coin. From now until July 4th, the public is encouraged to try their luck and grab these great deals.

In addition to the capsule surprises, Ximending also features a giant Gulliver’s plate. This massive culinary tableware installation art displays a 101-food-tower stacked with food beside the plate, showcasing Taipei’s unique "diverse, rich, and integrated" food culture. The installation will be exhibited at the plaza in front of Exit 6 of Ximending until July 4th—don’t miss it.
