The beauty of Sun Moon Lake is well known. On a clear day, the pristine blue sky reflects brilliantly on the lake’s surface, and the ever-changing allure of this magnificent body of water makes it the perfect backdrop to commemorate a new marriage. This year, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration and the Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake are joining hands for the first time to jointly host the “2010 Sun Moon Lake Leisure Wedding Festival,” publicly selecting 20 couples to leave behind a romantic and picturesque memory of their love amidst the lake and mountain scenery.

Following the resounding success of last year’s Church of the Sacred Heart wedding, this year the scenic area administration is once again collaborating with lakeside hotels. The first group wedding event will take place at Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake, with the theme of creating an elegant, romantic, and uniquely Sun Moon Lake-style Western wedding. The selected 20 couples will only need to pay NT$7,999 to enjoy a package worth nearly NT$50,000, including one night in a lake-view suite at Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake, a romantic pre-wedding candlelight dinner, a Western-style buffet music luncheon, a private romantic boat ride for the couple, wedding attire and styling, commemorative wedding photos, and floral arrangements for the banquet.
This year marks the 99th year of the Republic of China, and the leisure wedding festival rides the wave of the auspicious “happiness for a long, long time” (幸福久久) theme, allowing couples to gain even more sweetness and joy under the witness of Sun Moon Lake. This event specially collaborates with renowned wedding-related vendors in central Taiwan to create an unforgettable Sun Moon Lake leisure wedding. With romantic floral arrangements, relaxing jazz music, and gorgeous white bridal gowns, set against the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the elegance of Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake, couples will experience a truly memorable and perfect wedding amidst the lake and mountain vistas.

The “2010 Sun Moon Lake Leisure Wedding Festival” is now accepting registrations until June 20, with the grand ceremony to be held over two days, July 9–10, in the newly built Hanbi Flower Hall banquet venue at Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake. 2010 Sun Moon Lake Leisure Wedding Festival
Event Dates: July 9–10
Event Fee: Selected couples will be charged a fee of NT$7,999 per couple (includes accommodation, meals, bridal attire and styling, wedding banquet floral arrangements, etc.)
Selection Method: 20 couples will be selected by the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area Administration and Hotel Indigo Sun Moon Lake. (Scoring weight for each criterion: Story topic appeal 30%, connection between the couple and Sun Moon Lake 30%, uniqueness of reason for participation 40%)
Registration Deadline: June 20. Mailed applications will be accepted based on postmark date.
