Egg Flying Race, Zongzi Wrapping, and Dragon Boat Racing—Experience the 2010 Dragon Boat Festival Carnival

In addition to exciting water-based competitions such as racing for the top spot, the “2010 Taipei Riverside Dragon Boat Festival Carnival” features a variety of land-based activities, including a Riverside Market Carnival, FUN Boat Joy Ride, Egg Flying Challenge, Zongzi Wrapping Contest, and joyful stage performances. There’s also a Riverside Family Fun Zone. The flower sprites from the Flower Expo will come to Dajia Riverside Park to deliver captivating stage performances, introducing information about the various exhibitions at the Flower Expo and giving the public a sneak peek at this international event.

During the event period from June 11 to 13, every day from 14:00 to 16:00, the stage area will feature performances by professional groups. Special time slots are also reserved for student music groups, preschool talent classes, and community college showcases in Taipei to sign up and perform. Through these stage acts, citizens can also become part of the performance. On June 12 and 13, the FUN Boat Joy Ride will provide 1,000 DIY kits for participants to paint and assemble their own paper dragon boats, and even experience the fun of manually paddling them into the water. On June 12 from 14:00 to 16:00, the Egg Flying Challenge will take place. Continuing the exciting egg-standing tradition every year, this year’s challenge incorporates science-based egg-standing competitions, applying scientific education in a fun and engaging way. On June 12, there will also be a zongzi wrapping activity, where the atmosphere of “wrapping ‘success’” helps enhance the parent-child bond between families and students preparing for exams.

The much-anticipated Riverside Market brings together folk art performances, Taipei delicacies, top-tier souvenirs, and thematic promotional booths, showcasing the diverse culture of Taipei City. Including time-honored Taipei cuisine, souvenirs that highlight Taipei’s unique character, and folk artisans skilled in the beauty of traditional crafts—all invited citizens of all ages to join in the Dragon Boat Festival Carnival under the Dazhi Bridge at Dajia Riverside Park during the event period.
