Sail on the Aqualuna to Explore Hong Kong’s Mysterious Water Temple

Unlike previous Victoria Harbour cruises, the “Cheung Po Tsai” now offers a new itinerary to the water temple Tin Hau Temple. Interested visitors can board at 12:15 PM at Pier 9 in Central or 12:30 PM at Public Pier 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui every Thursday. The fare is HK$340 per adult and HK$200 for children aged 4 to 11, which includes a dim sum lunch and one drink.

The “Cheung Po Tsai” was handcrafted over 18 months by veteran shipbuilders using traditional methods. This 28-meter-long red-sail wooden junk has two decks and offers 1,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor activity space.

Hong Kong’s oldest and largest water-based Tin Hau Temple is located in Tai Miu Wan, dedicated to the sea goddess Tin Hau, who guards the eastern entrance of Victoria Harbour. Built in 1266, this Tin Hau Temple is a Grade I historic building in Hong Kong. With its grand scale, picturesque scenery, and bustling incense offerings, it offers a striking contrast to the lively city center, allowing all visitors to experience a different side of Hong Kong.

Upon arrival at Tai Miu Wan, visitors can freely explore the Tin Hau Temple and learn about the local community life and culture. On the return journey, you can relax on the comfortable sofa beds and enjoy a leisurely ride back. The boat is expected to return to the New Star Ferry Pier in Central at 3:45 PM or to the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier at 4:00 PM.

All cruises depart from Pier 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui next to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Pier 9 in Central, and conclude at Pier 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui (unless otherwise specified).
