Summer Music Festival, 2010 Dapo Chihsiang Magic Feast

The "2010 Dapo Chihsiang Magic Music Festival" invites well-known domestic magicians such as Nien Li-ren, the Aurora Saxophone Quartet, as well as performances from the Wan-an Elementary School Bi-Cool Band and the Maidu Indigenous Mayilafu Art Troupe’s outstanding presentations, all set to take place by the picturesque Dapo Pond surrounded by green mountains and clear waters. Nien Li-ren, who has won second place in the close-up magic category at the World Magic Competition, will deliver world-class magic performances, accompanied by Taiwan's rising musical stars, the Aurora Saxophone Quartet, offering an extraordinary double enjoyment of sight and sound.

Located at the foot of Dapo Mountain under the Coastal Mountains Range, Dapo Pond is a natural lake that attracts tourists with its beautiful lake and mountain scenery. Its vast waters also serve as an important habitat for migratory birds in the Hualien-Taitung region, and its rich waterfowl resources make it one of the main bird-watching spots in eastern Taiwan. The Magic Music Festival, starting at 16:00 on July 3rd, will begin with performances by the Wan-an Elementary School Bi-Cool Band and the Mayilafu Art Troupe, followed by an auditory treat from the Aurora Saxophone Quartet, and will conclude with an exclamation mark in the magical performance by Nien Li-ren.

In addition to the visually and aurally enchanting Magic Music Festival, Chihshiang Township this year also offers the "Dapo Pond Bamboo Raft Experience." From now until August 29th, the public can paddle bamboo rafts on the pond, admire lotus flowers, and get close to the water to experience the beauty of Chihshiang. Participants will ride on recreational double-seated bamboo rafts, propelling the rafts forward in a seated position to tour the scenery of Dapo Pond. Each experience lasts about 30 minutes; preferential tickets are priced at NT$30 during weekend sessions, while regular sessions cost the full ticket price of NT$50.
