Taipei Gourmet Oscars: A Century of Culinary Competition
Organized by the Taipei City Government, the “2010 Taipei International Gourmet Show” will reach its climax in mid-to-late July, featuring a series of gourmet competitions. Centered around the theme “Taipei Banquet,” the event will hold the “Gourmet Oscars – Taipei’s Finest Restaurants Selection,” where 50 top Taipei gourmet restaurants will compete in various categories such as local cuisine, specialty snacks, fresh ingredients, and innovative fusion, presenting a feast of exquisite dishes.

The first event is the “Gourmet Oscars – Dining with the World Preliminary Banquet,” to be held at Xiangdi Plaza from July 16–18. The open kitchen concept will highlight exclusive dishes, offering not only culinary delights but also a strong visual impact. On the day, professional chefs, food judges, and the public will jointly select 15 restaurants shortlisted for the Gourmet Oscars. The “Gourmet Oscars Charity Gala Dinner” will be grandly held on July 31, combining gourmet food, art, and performances to let attendees experience the thrilling culinary battle reminiscent of Japan’s Iron Chef competition, and witness world-renowned chefs showcase their exquisite skills up close.
Ticket pre-sales start now. The “Gourmet Oscars – Dining with the World Preliminary Banquet” allows attendees to not only enjoy the show but also serve as judges alongside top local chefs to vote for the best, sampling classic dishes from 10 fine restaurants—all for just NT$999. The “Gourmet Oscars Charity Gala Dinner” will be the first collective dining event ever held at the square in front of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, featuring Taiwan’s top-tier culinary creations, priced at NT$1,499.
