Taiwan boasts an incredible variety of street snacks, and Taipei’s cuisine is even more diverse, blending local and international flavors. To showcase the richness of Taipei’s food scene, the Taipei City Government has launched the “Taipei Gourmet Hotspots” campaign. Aside from linking up 14 popular commercial districts, planning 4 stylish gourmet routes, and recommending 235 quality dining spots, diners who use the Taipei Shopping Card at participating stores not only enjoy discounts but also stand a chance to eat delicious meals for free all month long!
Dinner around Zhongshan Station
The 4 mouthwatering gourmet routes are: Explore Wanhua to experience Taipei’s culture, Dive into Ximending to catch the latest trends, Stroll through Gongguan for Taipei’s laid-back charm, and Discover Shida to uncover Taipei’s creativity. Foodies can follow the MRT lines to try local treats like snacks from Lao Tian Lu and De Ji Cake Shop; explore the historic alleyways of Bopiliao or the timeless Taipei culture at Ximending Red House; or sample global cuisines and unique goods in the famous Shida shopping area. Additionally, they can venture into the foreign-flavored Tianmu commercial district for a taste of international fare.
To allow everyone to savor classic dishes from Taipei’s 14 commercial districts in one go, a special promotion has been launched: simply present your “Taipei Shopping Card” at any of the 235 participating stores along the 4 gourmet routes to enjoy discounts ranging from 10% off to as much as 34% off. Each of the 14 districts also has a “Taipei Shopping Card Application Center” for easy participation. This event has specially partnered with RaRaSo (Lele Sou!) mobile entertainment map website. By using an Android smartphone or any internet-enabled phone, visitors can access the RaRaSo mobile entertainment map to check out dining deals at participating stores and enjoy a convenient, on-the-go gourmet lifestyle.
Wanhua’s Herb Alley
After making a purchase at a participating store, cardholders can also enter a lucky draw using their Taipei Shopping Card number and receipt. From July 16 to July 30, a total of 15 lucky winners (5 each Friday) will be selected to receive a free gourmet experience booklet containing 7 vouchers. On the final week, one grand prize winner will be chosen to enjoy the ultimate perk: 30 completely free meals for the entire month, allowing them to eat their way across Taipei!
