Just as historically renowned as Kyoto, Nara was once the capital of Japan. In the 8th century, the capital moved from Nara to Kyoto, marking 1,300 long years. This year, Nara is hosting the "1300th Anniversary of the Heijo-kyo Capital Transfer," where mascot Kenedo-kun leads visitors on a journey back to an era filled with Tang Dynasty influences and exotic Buddhist vibrancy.
