From September 18 to the end of December, the Budai Visitor Center of the Cloud Management Office has specially invited artist Hong Xiangpeng to display 20 of his Western paintings and arrange live painting sessions. Additionally, on the afternoons of September 18 and 19, outdoor concerts will be held to allow visitors to experience the romance of jazz music.

It has been one year since the center opened on September 20, 2009. To provide visitors not only with travel information but also a place for rest and spiritual enrichment, the featured artist Hong Xiangpeng graduated from Taitung Teachers' College. With a steadfast commitment to artistic creation, he devoted himself entirely to the art world starting at the age of 30. Later, driven by his passion for studying Buddhist teachings, his painting style evolved from figurative to abstract. Upon close appreciation of his works, one can discover an indescribable ethereal beauty and boundless imagination.

In addition to the static painting exhibition, the Cloud Management Office has also invited Mr. Hong to create impromptu poetry inscriptions on lotus paintings based on visitors’ names at the Budai Visitor Center from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on five specific dates: September 18 (Saturday), September 19 (Sunday), September 22 (Wednesday), October 9 (Saturday), and October 10 (Sunday). Visitors can take home these personalized artworks for free. Each day is limited to 60 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on September 18 and 19, live jazz band performances will be held in the plaza of the Budai Visitor Center. Visitors are welcome to come enjoy the paintings, listen to jazz music, and stroll along the sea breeze promenade at the visitor center while feeling the gentle ocean breeze.

Beyond jazz, fans of Taiwanese pop music are also in for a treat. To celebrate the first anniversary of the Budai Visitor Center, the Budai Township Office, in collaboration with the Cloud Management Office, will host a dazzling concert titled “Glamorous Concert to Boost Budai Tourism” on the evening of September 21 (Tuesday), the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival, from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM in front of the Budai Visitor Center. The event will feature performances by artists such as Tsai Hsiao-Hu, Lo Shih-Feng, Chan Ya-Wen, Yuen Hsiao-Di, Liu Fu-Tsu, Chang Hsiu-Ching, Hsiang Hui-Ling, Huang Szu-Ting, Fang Chun, Fang Yi-Ping, Yu Ying-Ying, and Chiu Lan-Fen, with accompaniment by the Kong-Chiang Big Band.
