Experience the thrill of F1 live — the 2010 Korean F1 Grand Prix
The 2010 Korean F1 Grand Prix (2010 Formula One Korean Grand Prix) will take place from October 22–24 at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province. This major event will attract the attention of F1 fans from around the world and across Asia. A total of 24 drivers from 12 teams will compete for the first-ever F1 championship title in Korean history. Fans are welcome to join the 120,000-strong crowd on-site to cheer on the drivers together.
This international circuit stop in Korea is located by the scenic Yeongam Lake, and is Korea’s first FIA Grade 1-certified international racetrack. The design incorporates many traditional Korean elements — the roof of the main grandstand features colors reminiscent of Korean architecture, while the eight watchtowers around the track are inspired by traditional Korean structures used for quick communication, showcasing Korea’s achievements in information technology. It's truly distinctive.
The circuit combines parts of a street layout to form a 5.615-kilometer international track, featuring high-speed zones, technical sections, and the Manila section, with a total of 18 turns (including 11 left turns and 7 right turns). It includes the longest straight of the 2010 season — a 1.2-kilometer stretch that allows F1 cars to reach top speeds of up to 320 km/h.
In addition to the main event, there will also be exciting concerts every evening during the race period at the main stage in Peace Square, featuring performances by popular artists such as ZE:A (Children of Empire) and DJ DOC, among others, heating up the night. The F1 promotional pavilion will also showcase the history and highlights of F1 events and drivers. Many companies have even chartered direct flights to Muan, South Jeolla Province, to spare fans the long journey, offering combined F1 and autumn foliage tour packages featuring delicious food, all in celebration of Korea’s first-ever F1 Grand Prix.
