The Hawaii Shopping Season kicks off from November 13 to December 24 at Ala Moana Center, just a few minutes’ drive from Waikiki Beach, the resort hub. It’s the world’s largest open-air shopping center and also Hawaii’s largest shopping and dining entertainment destination.

Ala Moana Center houses over 290 stores, making it the premier hub for luxury boutiques in Hawaii. It also features numerous high-end American brand stores, a variety of local brand shops, and a wide selection of upscale restaurants. The center includes four major department stores: Hawaii’s largest Macy’s and Sears, the only Neiman Marcus in Hawaii, and Nordstrom.
The Candy Cane Train runs on November 13, 14, 20, 21, and from November 26 to December 26. It’s closed on Thanksgiving (November 25) and Christmas (December 25). The train operates in the central area on the second floor of the mall, starting at 10:00 AM, with a fee of $7 per ride. (Note: Only children under 12 who can sit independently are allowed.)
Additionally, visitors can take photos with Santa Claus from November 13 to December 24 at the central stage near the first floor of the mall, with a starting price of $20.

Finally, there’s a special Thank You Reward Day on Friday, November 26 — Ala Moana Center’s “Post-Thanksgiving Thank You Reward Day.” Also known as “Black Friday,” every store offers special deals and sales from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and shoppers will receive a special gift.
