Since the launch of direct flights between Matsuyama and Haneda Airport late last year, this route has gradually become a popular choice for travelers to Japan. JR East Japan has introduced a Suica & Monorail combo ticket for foreign visitors, combining a “round-trip discounted fare” (from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho Station on the Tokyo Monorail) with the prepaid electronic money card “Suica,” making it very convenient for travelers.

The Suica & Monorail combo ticket is available in two price options: one-way for 2,400 yen (valid for the day, from Haneda Airport International Terminal Building to Hamamatsucho) and round-trip for 2,700 yen (valid for 10 days). Both options include a Suica card with 1,500 yen of stored value and a 500-yen deposit, usable on JR East Japan lines, subways, buses, and station shops.

The combo ticket will be available starting February 1, 2011, and can only be used by foreign tourists holding a foreign passport. A passport must be shown at the time of purchase. It is sold at JR East Japan Travel Service Centers or at the Haneda Airport International Terminal Building Station (Tokyo Monorail), with business hours from 11:00 to 18:30. In addition, as a celebration of the launch, the first 1,000 buyers will receive a limited-edition “Suica & Monorail” charm. Travelers planning a trip to Japan are encouraged to take advantage of this offer.
