Starting February 1, Okinawa Prefecture will offer free airport limousine buses and central-northern sightseeing shuttle buses exclusively for foreign travelers (including those from China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). Interested travelers are advised to make early reservations to avoid missing out.
Nago City General Park is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.
Among them, the airport bus service operates between the airport and select hotels. The additional limousine buses designated for foreign travelers from February 1 to 14 depart from the International Terminal. From February 15 to 28, the existing buses—Basho, Yayoi, and Hana—will operate from the Domestic Terminal. During the campaign period, a special counter in the International Terminal’s arrival hall will provide transportation vouchers upon request.
The central-northern sightseeing shuttle buses connect select hotels and attractions with the following routes: 1. Central Route: Onna Service Area → Ryukyu Mura → BIOS no Oka → Mihama American Village; 2. Northern Route: Forest Glass Studio → Pineapple Park → Fruitland → Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium; 3. Central North Route: Okinawa Zoo & Museum → Okinawa World → Gyokusendo Cave. These services will run from February 1 to 14, and from February 15 to 28, with varying operating hours depending on the period.
The exterior of the Ryukyu Glass Village is elegantly designed. The sales area, renovated in April 2000, features glass mosaics where colorful glass pieces shimmer brilliantly under sunlight, creating a breathtaking sight.
The conditions for using the free buses are as follows: free rides are available upon completion of a questionnaire (Chinese versions in both simplified and traditional characters are provided). It is recommended to download your transportation voucher in advance, but if you haven’t, you can also obtain one from the special counter at the airport, the above-mentioned hotels, or directly from the bus driver.
