Covering a total area of 55 hectares, Shangri-La Leisure Farm in Yilan is divided into accommodation areas, rural experience zones, temple culture areas, and Machilus thunbergii forest ecological zones. The fruits grown in the rural area are pesticide-free, allowing visitors to pick and taste them fresh. The farm also offers a special DIY sky lantern decoration activity. Using tassels and art paper, and under the guidance of an instructor, you can skillfully assemble and shape your own mini sky lanterns. With just a gentle breeze, the small lanterns will sway and dance.

Ren Shan Botanical Garden features a collection of distinctive plants from around the world, divided into zones such as the Oriental Garden Plants Exhibition Area, Western Garden Plants Exhibition Area, Great Voyages Exotic Plants Exhibition Area, and Low-altitude Forest Industry Exhibition Area (including camphor kilns and charcoal kilns). It’s a botanical garden that combines leisure, lifestyle, ecology, and education. Aside from rich plant resources, many animals also inhabit the area. Along the main trails, you can often spot the endangered Formosan macaque. Under the forest canopy, you might see signs of the Formosan gem-faced civet and pangolins. There are also 10 species of protected birds, including the fairy pitta, collared owlet, Taiwan bulbul, and Taiwan blue magpie. Amphibians, reptiles, 12 species of fireflies, and rhinoceros beetles can also be found here. Ren Shan Botanical Garden is abundant in both flora and fauna, making it a great educational and recreational destination.
