The Spring Travel Fair kicks off, Taipei Pavilion's century-old lucky bags sell out instantly

The Taipei International Spring Travel Fair opened grandly today (3/25) at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 and will run until March 28. This year marks the centennial of the Republic of China, and the city government has themed the Taipei Pavilion at the Spring Travel Fair around tourism revitalization and the centennial, launching various promotional activities, special offers, and limited-edition century lucky bags, which have received an enthusiastic response from visitors.

To celebrate the opening, the Taipei City Government prepared limited-edition century lucky bags worth over a thousand NT dollars. As soon as the fair began, long queues formed, and the bags were all claimed in less than ten minutes. Throughout the four-day event, the Taipei Pavilion also offered numerous discounted products. Guo Yuan Yi Food offered discounts of up to 50% on its items and shared its centennial cake exclusive to the centennial celebration with the public. The renowned Wei Ge Cake Shop went all out with a complimentary tasting event. The century-old tea house Sai Feng Jia Le also introduced its private collection teas and Taiwanese high mountain oolong, with a special fair offer of buy two boxes, get one box of high mountain oolong black tea free. Meanwhile, the Six Star Health Club sold discount wellness vouchers and ran a limited-time, limited-quantity promotion where buying a massage voucher would get you a free accommodation voucher—ensuring everyone left with great deals.

In celebration of the centennial, the Taipei Pavilion displayed representative antiques and items from century-old landmarks and shops, allowing the public to experience Taipei’s charm and historical development. These included the 110-year-old "Guo Family Calligraphy and Painting Shop," showcasing privately collected antique wood carvings and bamboo-engraved brushes; the 145-year-old century-old pastry shop "Guo Yuan Yi," which specially exhibited its generational cookie molds; and the five-generation-old century-old tea house "Sai Feng Jia Le," which, while now using vacuum packaging, specially presented traditional tea packaging with historical appeal during the fair. Additionally, another renowned 122-year-old store, "You Ji Famous Tea," displayed early-era four-tael tea packets, highlighting the historical footprint of Taipei’s century-old shops.
