The seating design at Ichiran Ramen in Japan is actually based on research — the ultimate service for introverts

To cater to more introverted travelers, Japan’s ultimate solution — “introvert-friendly service” — allows guests to enjoy 100% personal space without facing anyone throughout the entire experience. The only interaction? A pair of hands — delivering your noodles to you.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Ichiran Ramen has launched a dedicated restaurant to serve customers with different needs. What introverts dislike most is interacting with others — dining in such a restaurant offers them great comfort. Just hand in your order slip, and you can wait for your food in your private seat.

This concept was mainly created to address the issue of many female students not wanting to eat ramen in public, as it can be noisy. In Japan, more and more people are seeking quiet environments. Thoughtfully, if you’re dining with someone, you can also remove the partition between seats.
